Possible Pseudohyperkalemia Caused by Fist Clenching Movement

Abstract
Asking clients to clench their fists is a practice that has been used to make veins more visable for phelebotomy, for a long peroid.
But Don said, in his study, that fist clenching makes pseudohyperkalemia as excising muscle releases potassium.
In this study, 8 healthy men subjects¢¥ plasma potassium results show that it really works. One minute¢¥s fist clenching increased plasma potassium level as much as 0.80 mEq/L compare to the baseline samples. They returned to normal range after another one minute¢¥s relexation.
